Trying to squeeze this one in before the next deluge starts. ![]() As some of you may realize/understand, the West Coast of the US has been dealing with unprecedented snowfalls/rain totals and that made my real life job the priority. There was a longer gap between this post and others like it. I have to wonder if some of these cases are caused by someone having an episode, and thinks a hunter or a person in the woods is coming after them and shit.(Mod note: Apologies. My dad did right quick and the guy calmed down and was like "Oh sorry, thought you were someone, would you like some candy." Dude was the nicest guy but man flashbacks and moments like those must suck. Gave this poor Vet a freak out, he was yelling at my dad to show his face. One example was for Halloween my dad took my sister (and my mom was with them) out trick or treating dressed as an army guy with a gas mask and fake rats on him called Captain Rat. It was a big problem and still is for combat vets. From what I've read some of these individuals were vets and, at least in the 80s, were men (and women) suffering from mental issues from the war and other things, and they, in some cases, have breaks from reality. It's really not that hard to get lost in the woods or hide there if you know what to do and how to do it. Most missing person cases I tend to think, in these places, are people like that man. They found a tent with his shit a month after the incident with some of the kids things, but never found the guy. Turns out that locals had seen a guy in military fatigues in the area who was acting strange. ![]() Both were wrapped in plastic tarps, laid on the train tracks, and both had been killed previously (I think they were shot) and then a train came over the tracks and wrecked them. Any way they went missing and like a few days later their bodies were found after a train hit them. There was a case on unsolved mysteries years ago, where two teens, 18 years old, went out in the woods to do some night hunting, trying to recall the southern state. They are hard to track down even if you know they exist. However, things aren’t quite what they seem. Considering how easy it is to get lost in these areas, it normally wouldn’t raise an eye. People tend to forget that there are some, less then sane individuals that live off the grid. In his breakout research book, Missing 411, Paulides talked about how dozens of people of all ages vanished without a trace while staying in national parks. ![]()
